Hunt your demons
Are you aware of the demons you have to fight when you wake up? Thanks to a new pursuit, I've thrown myself into a space of creativity—one that's exhilarating but overwhelming, often bombarded by variations. With so many options at play, navigating your own distractions becomes a constant battle.
The biggest demon in me is a big, throbbing monster that's reluctant to close doors or say "no" to most things. Yet my consciousness as the host, knows full well that our deepest fixations demand careful time management—we don't have the luxury of chasing infinite opportunities. It takes deliberate effort to surrender to the single path you've chosen and stay the course. To choose is to cast a spell; once it's done, a wandering mind can't be tolerated.
I keep journaling (publish or not) for a simple reason: to hunt my demons. Capturing thoughts in words is itself a way to fight them. Instead of acting on impulse or going with the flow—which only feeds their appetite—I'm starving them out. They thrive in chaos and detest peace and clarity.
My demons need escape through expression; I let them out to find peace within myself. Strangely, it's both painful and enjoyable. I've closed many doors along the way, and the ones left open all revolve around expressing myself in words.
